About Nina

Thank you for visiting my blog. I would like to take this opportunity to share a little background information about me.

I am just a regular person like you, trying to navigate my way through this thing called life.

I grew up in a small town in Ontario with four siblings. Let’s just say it was a difficult childhood. My saving grace, in my opinion, were my earth angels, my soul sisters, Laurie and Tammy.

I was drawn to the sea, and soon made my way to the West Coast. I have been here ever since.

In 2006, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I followed the conventional medical recommendations of surgery and radiation. I survived but, I did not thrive.

Years of loss, grief, struggle, and health problems were to follow.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. I began to follow conventional medical recommendations yet again. After all, one is filled with overwhelming fear when you hear the word cancer.

And, conventional medicine feeds that fear. From doctors, to specialists, to technicians, and the heaps and heaps of negative literature that are thrown at you. All feeding the fear that is your constant companion with a cancer diagnosis.

I went ahead with surgery. And I did begin chemotherapy; despite many complications, setbacks, and Spirit sending me countless messages to the contrary. Why? Fear.

I had a severe response to chemotherapy. I believe my severe response was due to complications from my initial conventional medical treatments for cancer in 2006.

As I suffered and struggled through each day after chemotherapy I knew, deep in my soul, that if I continued on this path of treatment, I would die.

And so began my journey.
